Waylings thoughts of products/services.

Hello!

Think we need to think of some exciting and engaging things to do and the stuff we have already is good but any online articles we find or other ideas that we have should email eachother blog etc. Think we need to decide what we are going to do and then start planning it early so we can do something really good that will get us alot of important info and help us develop work.

A couple of ideas that I got from survey money answers and stuff just to get us thinking

- A hair gel that doubles up as a hand moisturiser

- Link a consultancy service to online/digital media. For example you go into the salon for a hair/skin/body consultancy and are recommended the best products for your type, you test them out see if you like etc then a personalised package is created where the consumer has an online account. They receive a personally tailored grooming package that is send every 3 months providing the customer with everything they need. From consumers perspective this eliminates the need to go out shopping and buy things, it also means the guy gets exactly what he needs and the products he likes. Each package could contain samples of new products suited to that consumer 'Try This' type thing. It would also promote the range of in salon services and send updates like 'Time to come in for a massage...' and entice the consumer into salons that way. Something to consider anyway??

- Hair products that thicken the hair and you could market this as though it will slow the effects of balding as alot of men seem scared of this

- Hair gel/wax that lasts - maybe look at L'Oreal patents and see what they have that we can utilise?

- To have a collection of products named after their specific quality for example:
+ ''Endurance" (long lasting gel)
+ "Attraction" (Gel infused with aftershave/lynx effect type thing)
+ "Moisture" (Gel that moisturises the scalp)
and this could go on to other ranges of products including skincare etc. Quite obvious/basic idea but could be cool?

Other things we need to do:

Get an in depth SWOT and PEST analysis done for the brand
Lots of secondary research mintel/magazines etc
Define our key competitors and do some primary research in this area
Maybe a case study on American Crew?
Contact Clinique and Clarins somehow and try and get some solid info from them on their mens range
Look at how men are marketed at in other areas eg clothing, technology etc to get ideas. I have noticed there are alot of 3 for 2 and bargain type deals in mens fashion and beauty at the moment. I dont know if this is a trend for men or just because of economic climate (more likely) but could be interesting to define some male buying habits.
